Lacroix's SPHINX NT system combines detection and reaction capabilities for area protection (camp, compound, FOB, critical infrastructure, etc.) It benefits from Lacroix's expertise developed in critical infrastructure, vehicle and ship protection.
The Sphinx NT is a modular and portable system. It is quickly deployable, enabling it to operate during set up of or retreat from an area to be protected; in the event of locally degraded protection; ensure area protection while personnel is on mission.
Sphinx NT is fully compliant with the Ottawa Treaty, ensuring safe remote control (Man in the Loop) of arming and firing.
SPHINX NT Effectors
Sphinx NG: System dedicated to critical asset protection. It receives commands from the control unit through a receiver, controls the safety systems for unit placement and firing and orders the firing of munitions
The Land Cougar is a multi-tube version of the smoothbore, 56-mm calibre break-action launcher. It is heavy-duty, light and wieldy, making it ideal for mounting on an armored vehicle or a pick-up. It is used to fire all ALSETEX 56-mm non-lethal grenades
Aero Cougar : It equips UAVs with a launcher payload to provide an alternative approach to area protection missions.
DAV : The system immobilizes vehicles by destroying their wheels and axels with a "pyrotechnic knife". The system does not cause any collateral damage to the occupants of the vehicle nor to anything within proximity. It is effective on all types of wheel and pneumatic technologies, including tires resistant to penetration.
SPHINX NT Control
The C2 : The C2 is the core of the protection system. It centralises all incoming data from the sensors and effectors. It runs on stand alone mode or linked to the C3 to combine protection systems
SPHINX NT Sensors
The infrared barrier sensor is a proven product which is in service worldwide with various military, police and Homeland security agencies. Each infrared barrier can be connected by cable to the seismic acoustic sensor or be supplied as an individual node with its own integrated meshed radio module.
The Remote Snapshot Camera is a small and rapidly deployable, fully autonomous ruggedised camera surveillance system, triggered by movement detected by the integral infrared barrier detector.
The Seismic acoustic sensor is a unique, miniaturized and cost effective Unattended Ground Sensor (UGS). It extends the eyes and ears of the troops and provides beyond-line-of-sight situational awareness and target information 24 hours a day.
